The moment we talk about the end times, For most people the first thing that comes to our minds is large scale destruction by an asteroid or a grand tsunami wave or an earthquake or the world war three erupting or some nation like Korea or Iran just waking up one morning and nuking us.But the truth is far from that, As Christians we know we have a guide that we look up its not Google , not the library but our own all in one guide "THE HOLY BIBLE". We tend to forget that The Bible has answers to every question that we have, we need to look in the right places. Concerning the end of time the Bible has some clear pointers.
We find that Jesus himself has time and again metaphorically explained the events or the signs to look out for concerning the end of times.
Luke 21:10
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
Now when we talk about end of times we as born again believers are waiting for the second coming of Jesus Christ and for us that's the end of our time in this world as mere human beings before we come back to rule the earth for a thousand years(Doesn't that sound great?) with glorified bodies.
Signs to look out for Christ's second coming.
In 2 Timothy 3:1-5
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power.
Look around you, aren't we finding more and more people of the above kind on the rise and increasing at alarming rate? People who don't care about others and their feelings and love money more than fellow beings, and abusive oh!man physical,verbal and mental abuse is all that you hear in news these days, disobedient children?anyone?Its rare to find children who wholeheartedly obey their parents anymore.
Mothers against kids, father against son, family against family (unforgiving, without love), Without any kind of self-control neither physical nor mental, brutal in ways we cannot imagine , pleasure of the world takes the front seat and God is completely out of the car. Terrible days these are.

Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
This above passage could or could not be about Israels rebirth because there are people who say it and some who reject it.We never know, it could be.Israel became a nation in 1948 and still Jews who are scattered all over the world are returning to their homeland. Or it could just be Jesus telling us that just like we can easily identify the change of seasons we should be able to identify all the tell tale signs of His coming. Wherever we turn our eyes, the nations and the unions are going through a time of trouble, some are facing war, some famines,some economic tremors and some are in a free fall.
Corruptions and immorality are on an a all time high, countries forsaking the concept of God and christianity on which some powerful nations on this earth were founded. European Union is in its worst crisis, US is under heavy debt and heavy threat from hostile countries. The leaders of the world are loosing their plot and in confusion of how to save their countries from downfall. All these events will culminate not in the end of the world but the establishment of Gods kingdom.
Just as fall sets in we see the leaves vanishing from the trees and spring announces its arrival with green new leaves, while winter makes us freeze and summer makes us sweat we know the seasons well, the political , economic, social turmoil that our societies and nations are going through are clear and loud signs for believers to gird our loins and prepare for the arrival of the king.
Are we ready?
We talked about things happening around us.but the question remains ..are we ready? As the bible says let the righteous be more righteous .we need to resist the pleasures of this world and fight with the devil and his traps and that can only happen when we have our eyes on the prize.That is our Lord Jesus Christ!
